Having Sex is Difficult?

As heartless as this may sound, I get fairly frustrated when parent’s often claim that their 8-week-old or 2-year-old is “the greatest thing they’ve ever accomplished”. Ok on the outside while that may sound all cute, have the appearance of deep emotional thinking, and seems like the “mature” parent thing to say, when you think about it, what kind of statement is that? Are you saying that having sex with a female was such a difficult task? That it required a life’s work of disciplined training, countless hours of study, and unprecedented fortitude? No offense bud, but anyone could’ve done that.
Now if you want to display for me your 18 year old son or daughter that is an honor roll student, Eagle Scout, Varsity captain, community service volunteer, and all-around genuine person…ok, that’s a pretty good parenting accomplishment. But don’t say your newborn or young one is the greatest accomplishment you’ve ever done. That pretty much means you haven’t really done anything greater than eating a double cheeseburger.
