"Buying an uber-low mileage older car is like dating a virgin..."

...Sure, you don't have to worry about the killer cooties quite as much, but you also don't get to really enjoy the relationship on as many levels as you might desire."

Haha, so true...and as well as a dating virgin.

Pulled from my favorite car blog here:

  1. I have an aunt who used to tell me: "You want to marry a virgin, because it's like buying a new car."

She stopped telling me that once I asked her when my uncle was going to "Trade up to a newer model."

  2. On a more serious note...

In 1935, Kinsey delivered a lecture to a faculty discussion group at Indiana University, his first public discussion of the topic, wherein he attacked the "widespread ignorance of sexual structure and physiology" and promoted his view that "delayed marriage" (that is, delayed sexual experience) was psychologically harmful.

  3. Thanks for the more "serious" thought Anon. That said, a concerted effort to research into Kinsey's personal and professional life, especially his experimental controls, or lack thereof, may change your view of his studies' merit. He was truly a deviant individual...and in my opinion far from objective.

That said, based purely on anecdotal evidence, for what it's worth, I've never met anyone that delayed sexual experience in the name of purity and higher ideals exhibiting psychological deficiencies nor regret that decision to live that way prior to marriage. In fact, most say it strengthened their relationship and personal character.

  4. Sometimes I rent cars? Is that so wrong? Should I just wait and save my pennies to find the "right" car for me. I know she's out there!
